HUGO ISRAEL , Mentor and creative director of Pop Up




He is a multifaceted artist who chose photography, performance and installation as privileged subjects of its artistic expression. Summing to that he developed a career in communications, production and brands activation, experiences that gave him comprehensive and contemporary artistic notions. In 2008 he published the poetry book “Amor ah Tona” under Hugo Villier pseudonym. The following year he made his debut as mentor and artist-curator of Pop Up Lisboa project. In 2010, he put hundreds of people releasing suppressed emotions and negative feelings with the installation “Prato do Dia: Burnout” a work presented in Chiado After Work, an event sponsored by Chiado district association. Hugo Israel defines himself as a “creative agent” and through its work aims to promote exchange between artists and the community, encouraging multidisciplinary meeting moments, based on experience and interaction enhanced by the urban space inhabitat.
